Happy Birthday, Max!
Just as much as we love our residents, we love their pets, too. At Roland Park Place, we take pride in celebrating all things community – birthdays, anniversaries, personal achievements, holidays, seasonal events, and on occasion, and when invited, a dog’s birthday party.
That’s what I did on Friday. A resident stopped by my office and invited me to her dog’s birthday party. For me, this was a first.
It really was great fun, and any chance I get to hang out with the residents, and their pets – count me in! This was definitely a spirit lifting event, watching dogs play, and residents socialize.
Socialization is extremely important, especially in retirement communities because it improves physical health. It definitely feeds our mental and emotional wellbeing. It reduces depression and social anxiety, and improves our cognition, too.
Here’s to more celebratory moments. And to a little dog named Max… It was a fun party! Thank you for inviting me. As for your pet parent, you have one the best. Ida… You’re a keeper. You prove animals are a human’s best friend. – paerki
