A Wonderland In White
When looking out the window this morning, I was surprised to see my neighborhood covered in a fresh blanket of snow. The trees and rooftops were glistening. It was magical. It definitely looked like a winter wonderland.
When it snows, I am eager to be outdoors to walk/hike through the city. However, this morning I was content staying indoors. Perhaps it was age talking, but we just had a snowstorm last week, so I thought I would sit this one out.
That all changed when I saw a Facebook friend’s photos. His beautiful images enticed me outdoors, and I am glad they did. Within minutes I was dressed and ready to go.
It didn’t look like much at first, but soon learned we definitely received a decent amount of snow to be innovative (creating snowmen, snow angels, innocent snowball fights, etc.). I was more interested in snapping photos.
Lesson learned, don’t be so quick to throw in the towel. It was easy for me to say no, but soon realized my regret would consume me more. As we age, we must push ourselves, especially with the activities we enjoy. – paerki
