It’s All About Friendship
How About You?
I’ve been very pleased with August’s weather. More rain would have been nice, but beggars can’t be choosy. Sunday’s rainfall was intense. I’m forever intrigued when I see sun and rain together, mixed with heavy wind gusts and thunder. Even I have my moments of fright, thinking to myself, "Is this it!"
With our current mixed bag of weather, I’ll put myself out on a limb to say summer’s demise is close at hand. Fall is just around the corner. My countdown to the big day began the first day of summer. Here’s to cooler days – to the leaves changing, jackets and sweaters being worn and the occasional fire. I’m excited! How about you? – paerki
The Past
When the past comes knocking will you answer? There are some doors I prefer remain shut – sealed, and never to be opened again. I have no interest in pursuing conditional love born out of expectation.
I met up with a friend whom I haven’t seen in years. Actually, that’s not entirely true. There have been a few chance meetings, but we never really saw each other for who we are now. Perhaps the timing wasn’t right, but this time – it was perfect!
We’ve come full circle in our journey. To my dear friend, you are a barometer of sorts, reminding me just how far I’ve come on my road to discovery. It’s been an adventure, and I would do it all again. Knowing what I know now, I would have appreciated you so much more. Ours is a bittersweet past, but it’s the joy and laughter that has gotten us here – a place where friendship lives on and love is unconditional. That’s the greatest gift you’ve given me, and I thank you. Here’s to keeping in touch, until the end of time.
Some doors were meant to be closed, and when you try to reopen them, you remember why they were closed in the first place. Trust you instincts before rousing the once forlorn. I feel fortunate to have found a happy ending, but I dare not tempt fate twice. – paerki
Friendship
To one special friend, I’m happy we were able to renew our friendship. I played it calm, but I was more than ecstatic to see you. Never doubt my feelings for you. You’re my family.
To a new friend, you’re a keeper – beautiful inside and out. You make me laugh. How lucky am I?!
To an old friend, whom I haven’t seen in a few weeks, you are missed and loved. I stopped by your home twice, but you weren’t there. I’m sure we’ll see each other again soon, and if not, know that memories are sustaining. I hope you’ll let go of the sour, and embrace the sweet. Bitterness brings with it sorrow and pain, and who has time for that? I don’t. Here’s to joy! – paerki
See The Beauty
The photos in the post are from a late afternoon walk to the grocery store. There’s much to see during a simple walk. There’s beauty all around: just open your eyes. Enjoy! – paerki
