Joy In Being Alone
When was the last time you enjoyed your own company? There is joy in being alone.
Yesterday, I spent the late afternoon walking through one of my favorite neighborhoods in Baltimore City, Mount Vernon. I ultimately sat on a bench in the park square to read. On occasion I would daydream, recalling specific memories from when I lived in this historic area. Much has changed, and not necessarily for the better – still, it’s a special place that will forever be a part of me, and where I, on occasion, can find solitude.
Quality time alone is essential to our well-being. The busyness of our lives requires this counterweight to improve our relationships with ourselves.
Practice self care, my friends. Give yourself the gift of solitude. You don’t find time, you make time. Cheers! – paerki
