Play House
Sometimes it is nice to stay home and play house. That sounds like a patronizing term. Put it another way, I enjoy practicing domestic life.
I am thankful for four days of much needed time off work. It really was lovely. I thought I might be teased outdoors by the early morning sunshine, but that was a big NOPE!
It is now cloudy, with rain on the horizon, and that makes me happy. My fate has been sealed. Indoors I stay. If you love where you live, one should not mind this maybe I should say. I do not mind staying indoors to read, write, listen to my favorite music, cook, clean, do laundry, water the plants, and nap, and that is what I did today. I accomplished all my tasks, and my reward, Rita’s frozen custard. My second reward was walking two miles for my first reward. In short, it was a good day.
I really did not need a reward for doing chores, but the sun reintroduced itself, and I took that as a sign to spend a little time outdoors.
I love my little oasis in the city, especially my view. It is inspiring, mostly at night when the moon is full. There is something wonderous about a night sky, add a few planets and it becomes magical, almost breathtaking. (To two, not so new but special friends, thank you for the telescope. The sky really is the limit.)
As I write this, I am sitting on the couch in my living room with windows behind me. Something is hitting the windows. It is raining! It finally reintroduced itself in a noticeably big way. I am enjoying the thunder and wind, too. I call this a perfect ending to a perfect day.
Dear friends, do not expect to simply find a perfect day. Your best bet is to create one. My success always comes from creating a Not To Do List. Yes, you read that right. Create your own set of rules and go from there. Be productive but have fun along the way. I did, and you will, too. To all, enjoy your week. – paerki
