My End Of Year Rant
Our lives have been forever changed by the coronavirus pandemic with hundreds of thousands of people dead, millions of jobs lost and over 100,000 establishments temporarily shut down only to ultimately close. Add to that racial inequality, and 45 and his enablers sucking the life out of humanity, particularly those who are poor and uneducated. Again, why do people vote against their own interests? Why do some choose to be willfully ignorant? I don’t get it and perhaps I never will. We can do better. There is no reason why we can’t all get along, at the very least be civil.
My friends, fear is never the answer. Education can help with that. Every story has two sides. Don’t be a one-sided person, but be open to possibilities. Before you act, listen carefully, investigate and then decide. You don’t always have to choose a side. Facts are important. Your opinions, not so much. There are times, when it’s best to keep your mouth shut (something I am desperately trying to learn, with some success).
Religion can be a beautiful thing (so I’ve been told). You can still love your God and be accepting of others without judgement and pretense. In no way does religion dominate common sense. But then again, common sense can be a matter of perspective (depending on who you talk to). – paerki
