Ten Monarch Butterflies
Tuesday's visit to the Oregon Ridge Nature Center and a hike on one of the trails at the Gunpowder Falls State Park proved most enjoyable. Very seldom do I see more than two monarch butterflies, but this time around I counted ten. Ten! That's a big deal to me. The monarch butterfly population continues to decline as a result of man-made events. Add to that the consequences of the global warming phenomenon. Do your part to change the outcomes – cultivate milkweed, and plant nectar plants. – paerki
