With Each Passing Day
Fall is getting better and better with each passing day. The temperatures during the sunlight hours are enough to bring anyone comfort and joy, and at nighttime, perfect sleeping weather. I’m appreciating those extemporaneous walks too with special friends, enjoying each other’s company while talking life, love and the pursuit of happiness. There’s a special feeling one gets this time of year, and it comes from seeing the leaves. Mother Nature really knows how to paint the city, well, my community anyway. What can I say?! It’s beautiful!
I’ve been looking for the perfect leaf, tree, etc., or so I thought. I’ve come to realize, with fall, no one thing is perfect, and one must take time to enjoy it all. Take it in and allow it to soothe every ounce of your being. That’s just what I did on Tuesday and will continue to do, taking daily hikes until fall’s demise.
The photos in this post are from Lake Roland, a 100-acre reservoir in Baltimore County, Maryland. The lake is contained within Robert E. Lee Park. It’s an artificial impoundment created by a dam on the Jones Falls, fed by two other smaller streams, Towson Run and Roland Run. It’s plentiful with wildlife, especially during the summer. The park was refurbished a few years ago. The renovations include a bridge, revitalized footpaths, a 1,400-foot long boardwalk and a dog park.
Make time for fall. It’s waiting for you and has much to share. Now is the time to create special memories with friends and family. Enjoy! – paerki
