Nostalgia
Almost everyone has experienced nostalgia, a wistful memory of childhood or a strong feeling of homesickness. For many it brings on a sense of euphoria, especially when a significant, pleasant memory is recalled.
That happened for me on Sunday. I took a walk down memory lane, visiting familiar places in my old neighborhood. This was nothing planned, but I was close enough that I thought it would be fun, and it was! There were so many memories, and I cherish them all.
We must never forget that memories are crucial to our survival. In your happiest hour they can bring about utopia, and in your darkest save you from yourself, forgoing the depths of despair. We must be cognizant of all that is around us, embracing each moment as if it will be our last, never forgetting to share those memories with others, because they are bound to strengthen and make us stronger as friends, family, coworkers and as people of the universe, all attempting to make it through and survive with harmony, at least I hope.
Ultimately they will unite us because more often than not, your story is my story. Here’s to breaking down walls and finding our commonality. Here’s to memories. Get lost in nostalgia today. – paerki
