Daydreaming About Summer
Most of the milkweed has died and the butterflies, nearly gone. There were not as many monarchs this year. I was a little disappointed. Still, with their bright colors and delicate wings, butterflies are remarkably beautiful, bringing joy to all.
For those who joined in on my summertime adventures of chasing after these fanciful, fluttering little creatures – thank you, and to one person in particular, ours is a memory I never want to forget. I’m grateful you accompanied me from afar. Here’s to technology!
At times, I have a habit of bashing summer, but as I get older I welcome it more and more because it’s a period when time slows down, when we can really make the effort to explore and experience our surroundings in a more meaningful way (much of this has to do with the weather).
Never underestimate the power of each season. All are there to teach and motivate, to provide joy and inspiration, and to inspire – fortifying each life. However, we must be fully open to the experience, thus being present in the moment.
Soon we’ll embrace a new season. It’s hard to give up summer, but remember that without a little diversity in life, we would soon forget just how great the good things really are, and it would be so easy to take it all for granted.
Whatever you do, enjoy the remaining days of this favorable period and be thankful for each. Savor the beach and pool time, hikes and barbecues, and those fabulous moments with friends, and don’t forget to take lots of photos because it won’t be too long before you’ll be daydreaming about summer. Cheers! – paerki
