Enjoy Life
Another year, another garden walk, and for me it keeps getting better and better. Each garden has its unique charm and character, and all are remarkably beautiful. The Charles Village Garden Walk is one of my favorite events, and will always hold a special place in my heart.
To the gardeners, thank you for opening your hearts to the public, displaying your creative endeavors, more importantly, for being gracious, kind and giving. To Kathy P and Jeanne K, and the countless others who put time and effort into this community bonding feat – you are more than awesome, and words can’t express just how much I appreciate your diligence, time and commitment. You confirm, year after year, that it really does take a village to keep a village thriving.
And finally, to those who traveled near and far, to the "can do" neighborhood, known to many as Charles Village, regardless of the heat and humidity (although it was cool in the morning), you prove your loyalty to the city, and that means everything to someone like me, because regardless of the many challenges, city life is best, you just have to learn how to make it work for you, and I’ve got that down!
What a weekend! It was nonstop, and I enjoyed every minute of it, spending time with those who nurtured my spirit, while helping me to expand my horizons. It’s a mindset, the result of reflection, never mistaking motion for action and always showing gratitude. Happiness is easy to achieve, especially when we live within our means. (Now that’s something to think about. Yes?!)
A new week begins, and my joy from the weekend will stay with me, guiding me straight through to Friday. What’s going to sustain you? Like me, I hope it’s your memories from the weekend. Life can be hard sometimes, as if you don’t already know, but events like the garden walk, people like Kathy P, places like Charles Village and all those happy smiles from the many people I met on Sunday… That’s a happy life. Cheers! – paerki
