My Gay Love
I can’t begin to tell you how sad I am about the current situation with Chick-fil-A, and to think I ate there, and often. Live and learn.
To see photos online of so many showing up at stores clinching their little chicken bags of hate and with smiling faces – well, it’s beyond disgusting. It’s unconscionable. I’ve heard many say, it’s not about hate, but free speech, which I am an ardent supporter of, but this is not what this is – no way! This is hate in its purest form, and if you don’t think so, and if you believe your God would approve of your cruel despicable actions – well you, my clueless wonder, are an idiot in its purest form.
These faces of hate have made me stronger. They always do! I vow to love more for those who love less. Now more than ever, I am committed to the cause of equality for all. (I typically refrain from showing public affection, but that ends today!)
We must be more visible, celebrating all things love, and every chance I get to show affection with those men that rock my world – I’m going for it! There will be a lot of hand holding, too. When we aren’t being true to ourselves, limiting are real feelings, especially as they pertain to love just because others might feel uncomfortable, then all the problems related to homophobia go unresolved.
The greatest power known to man is unconditional love. Many have become stingy, greedy with what should be free flowing. At times it seems like an arbitrary concept. Many are under the assumption they practice this daily. This careful observer knows this is far from true. Happiness is an internal feeling that should not depend on someone else's approval.
To those who want to stifle love, my gay love, please know this: The freedom to love ranks right up there with the right to free speech and the freedom of religion. I hope many will begin to see the light, abandoning their bully pulpits to embrace those that need your love, now more than ever. Here’s to love, and vulgar displays of it until ALL open their eyes to see we are ALL worthy of this most precious commodity – LOVE.
What we all deserve is love. What we all need is love. Love is love, and must never be judged. True love, regardless of sexual orientation must be respected and honored. The voyage through life as a single person can be challenging, daunting at times. So, if you are lucky to find another human being to share your journey, I say, "GO FOR IT." We must never forget that love has many shapes, sizes, and colors and is not finite.
We need to be looking more clearly at a world vision where everyone matters and all feel included. Here’s to us all learning to coexist before it’s too late.
We're here, we're queer, and we're not going away. We’ll not be silent to appease your ignorance, shame and fear. Get over yourself, hater! Love more… Hate less… Find peace. Cheers! – paerki
