A Prayer For Peace
When I take my early morning walk of meditation I often pass by the Cathedral of the Incarnation, one of the many beautiful churches in my neighborhood. I make it a point to always look up and read aloud the words on the banner above the main entrance – Pray for Peace.
I am always inspired by this message and truly hopeful for a positive outcome. The only way to ever achieve such harmony is through diversity, learning the unknown, respecting the difference and ultimately embracing the true spirit of mankind.
We need to stop playing God. We need to leave our judgments at home. And when we walk out the door to begin a new day we need to enter the world with a promise to concentrate on the goodness and only the goodness of people. What better way to control anger, especially for things we simply don’t find easy to understand, but must.
These days I’m a bit weary in prayer, often wondering if it really matters. Feeling a bit beguiled from those that carry a torch of hate, I have my days, but I continue to weather the storm in earnest for a brighter tomorrow, and hope you are doing the same, dear friend. A genuine heart has the ability to bring about real change. Are you of one?
Say a prayer for me because I’ll be sure to say one for you. I hope in unison we’ll be chanting a prayer of peace together. – paerki
