Character
It was a walk of randomness, my mind free and clear of life’s clutter and debris, which left me time to contemplate a friend’s deceit. You gave me much to think about. I thought about you, then me and finally us. I came to the conclusion I was more important. Each night before I lay my head to rest I reflect on my day and pray I was true in my thoughts, feelings and actions. Do you?
You deceived me once, and it was your fault. You’ve deceived me twice and now it’s my fault. The game of deception has come to an end. There will not be a third.
A person without morals and values lacks character – no character, no soul – no soul, an inability to love. If you can’t love yourself how can you respect our friendship, and be the keeper of that which is priceless? I leave you to your thoughts.
To all who read, we must forgive, but never forget, and with a person’s deceit we must move on with hope. – paerki
Intuition
Much of my life has been lived by intuition. Intuition (instinct or insight) is best described as knowing without deduction or reasoning. Many call this a gut feeling, others a hunch. When individuals use the latter I consider it nothing more than happenstance (fate, if you will).
For me there has always been a rational process of insight that leads me to a better acknowledgement of situations, thus my ability to identify with people and in turn I understand myself more.
It’s a process I’ve learned to count on from time to time, especially when life’s challenges knock at my door. Like many, I have my ups and downs, which feed into my survival of endurance and overcoming.
There are those who think all have this introspection in varying degrees, and that it’s possible to be even more intuitive as time passes. I disagree. I think it’s innate for some. I’m convinced not everyone has this core quality and character-building attribute. It cannot be manufactured. You either have it or you don’t. Thus, like speaking to like.
I often think it’s why some friendships stand the test of time without reason. Intuition becomes the guiding force (a possible connection of fate) that no two people need to discuss because it was just in the cards they be together, and so the conversation is never about can or will we make it through a particular challenge, but constant communication so negative situations don’t become obstacles to survival of the two.
To a lost friend, the scissors of deceit and manipulation has cut the threads of our friendship, and I’m uncertain as to how the pieces can ever mend. Your character is flawed and I leave you with your shame. There is no changing you, but I can change me, which has me acquiescing on that which I denounced at the onset. – paerki
Inspiration
It’s important to our survival, and must be acknowledged each and every day. Inspiration is about seeing the possibility of change. I think it’s important we all seek out new experiences from time-to-time because only then can we find the inspiration we need to move forward in the game of life.
I find inspiration though walks/hikes, while exploring nature. I find inspiration in the written words of others, learning from personal challenges. I also gain newer insights from my own words, rereading my blog posts, reflecting on a life lived and still in progress. Music and art have always been at the forefront of my existence, feeding into my exploration, especially whenever I question the mystery of life and how I see myself in it.
I’ve come to realize my biggest inspirations are the people I meet on any given day, those of challenge (beggars on the street, people in poverty, etc.) and the extreme (those with too much who give too little). The latter reminds me of what I never want to be, and why the world at times is off balance.
If you get any thing from what I have written allow it to be this… Keep an open mind and heart, and whenever possible share your experiences because words have power, and when used appropriately they can sustain and grow a life, day by day. – paerki
