End Of Summer Musings
My simple summer. No big travel plans. There was opportunity, but it was all lowkey. I spent much of my time alone, enjoying those me, myself, and I moments. We got along well.
I enjoyed my walks and hikes. My treks began in the early hours – 5 AM, and would end at 8 PM (not always, but more often than not).
There
were many trips to the farmers’ market. There were lots of flowers, lots of
fresh fruit and lots of gluten-free treats.
I
enjoyed my music and books, too. Occasionally, I would watch a movie.
My
simple summer… It was all about me. I appreciate my friends and love them
dearly. Thank you for the many invites, but I purposely made this summer about me.
My
simple summer… It was about turning 60 and making peace with the next chapter.
My
photos are a simple reminder that you can live your best life alone. Sometimes
it’s nice to embrace solitude, focusing on selfcare and personal growth.
Cultivate a meaningful relationship with yourself.
My
simple summer… The best. – paerki

Today
is International Peace Day. In this day and age, what does it mean? How can we
expect peace abroad when there is no peace at home? Welcome to the divided
United States of America, where our first amendment rights are being challenged
daily.
We are more divided than ever with a deep-seated lack of consensus. Political violence has increased, and we appear to live in a persistent state of hostility.
Grifters
are taking over with many wanting to erase our history. We can’t run from our
past, but we can learn from it.
We
can all live together but we must respect each other. United we stand, divide
we fall.
I
can’t say this enough, just be a good human. What is a good human? A good human
is kind, caring, honest, sincere, hopeful, helpful, purposeful, cares about the
environment, and is not jealous of others. These are just a few things that
come to mind. What would your list be?
I must admit, I sometimes get caught up in the negativity. When I see someone doing the wrong thing, I want to scream, react. I am getting better with my output, which can be sharp, and cut like a knife. I am only human. I am a work in progress. We all are. Effort is everything. (Regardless of the situation, you must react kindly.)
Good afternoon, friends. New day. New
week. New goals.
Focus on the new. Do something new.
Challenge yourself. Attempt to walk in someone else’s shoes. The people you
think are your enemies are more than likely not.
We are all misguided fools, but with a
little understanding we can do better. Feeling hopeful. – paerki
