Self-Care
Begin your day with a little selfcare. It does not have to be complicated and fancy. Ten minutes of stillness can be rewarding (15 is better).
My ritual during the spring and summer months... Morning tea on the fire escape. I watch the birds, prune plants, and read quotes. I snack on anti-inflammatory foods... Nuts, seeds, and yogurt. My supplements of choice... Turmeric, Ginger, Slippery Elm, Boswellia, Bromelain and Peppermint Oil.
It is okay to sweat the small stuff, but do so in a timely manner. It is okay to stress a little too, but do not turn molehills into mountains. Lastly, be realistic and know your limitations. With the last one, I am getting there (slowly, but surely). – paerki
"Try not to waste energy worrying if others get you. As long as you get yourself that’s all that matters." – T.L. Dewar
Responsibility
Take responsibility for your mistakes. When we make excuses or try to blame other people, not only are we failing to take responsibility, but we are demonstrating a character trait which is very common in people who fail to succeed in anything. – paerki
Walking
I enjoy an early morning walk, especially in the rain. The beauty of walking is found in the details, appreciating every little flower, leaf, tree, etc. It is time well spent. Walking meditation is the best! – paerki
"It’s not selfish to love yourself, take care of yourself, and to make your happiness a priority. It’s necessary." – M. Hale
Outlook
How your day will play out largely depends on your outlook. Plan your day in a way that will help you focus on what is important so you can be more efficient and effective with your time. – paerki
