I Am Ready For Spring
It’s so important for all of us to make the most of every second, and it’s not just about being efficient so that you can do everything on your list, but really being present in the moment, because that’s what it’s really all about.
We must also cherish the simplicity of it all too, and trying not to get caught up in material things. We should attempt to focus on those conversations that feed into our happiness and creativity, laughter and love. Treasure them as you would a special keepsake. I always do, and they are worth their weight in gold.
Make time to enjoy life’s simple pleasures, and the best way to do this is by getting rid of the clutter in your life, focusing on what you are doing and by taking yourself out of your comfort zone. – paerki
Spring is just around the corner. I’m ready to enjoy the following…
Baltimore’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 2 PM): Be a part of the excitement! What I like most about this parade is the feeling of unity. It brings so many people together – families, neighbors and friends, and all in the name of fun, and it must be said, drinking too, but in a good way ("innocent drinking" if there is such a thing).
I also like that the Irish community encourages outsiders to join in on ALL of the festivities, as if they have to ask. We are drawn to the Irish because they know how to party, and I like the music and food, and I’m sure you do too. Just like on the actual holiday, everyone can be Irish, but you’ve got to wear your green. (Reference: St. Patrick’s)
Holi (Festival Of Colors) The Johns Hopkins University: Needless to say, this celebration is vibrant, imaginative, joyful and oh, so beautiful.
Holi, observed by Hindus, mostly in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal, announces the passing of winter and arrival of spring. It celebrates the new energy of the season and the unity of brotherhood. It’s a time for people to bury their hatchets with a warm embrace, throwing all worries to the wind. It promotes friendship, giving all the opportunity to forgive and forget (I wish it were that simple – and it is, if love is in your heart.). Here’s to celebrating differences – our diversity. We are all different, and yet remarkably beautiful. (Reference: Holi)
Sherwood Gardens – Tulips (April through May): Sherwood is one of my beloved spring destinations – a community garden I go to for relaxation and rejuvenation. It’s a place where I meet friends for picnics, to play board games (especially Scrabble) or to just sit amongst the majesty of the flowers and gab the evening away. However, it’s my me time I like most, taking a blanket and a favorite book, finding the perfect tree and reading the afternoon away. And, of course, there are those moments when my daydreams carry me into fantasy, always adding to the happiness and enjoyment of the day.
Make time for Sherwood Gardens. Come sit, relax and unwind. It’s an excellent place to feel the peace and serenity of Mother Nature. Who knows, you just might see me there. (Reference: Sherwood)
