Truth
Why is it easier to believe a lie rather than the truth? Isn’t the truth supposed to set us free?
There are an infinite number of possibilities. There is only one truth. Unfortunately, the latter is very seldom presented. Many are too lazy to seek out what in the long run will be healing to the human condition.
There are those who simply don’t want to make an effort, and at times I understand, but this still doesn’t make it right. We must attempt to stay informed. An informed person is wise, respected and will ultimately be protected in times of strife, especially when we unite for the greater good of all people.
I find it unacceptable when we base our truth on past beliefs, grounded in parental authority. The peer pressure from social influence can be just as conflicting, and all contributes to stress. (Religion and those who purport to know God’s word do a great disservice to the masses, too. I’m not knocking religion, but it must be all-inclusive. We must stop preaching the false gospel of exclusion because it’s killing the collective spirit of the world.)
I don’t doubt people want to make the right choice, but our lack of genuine introspection can often dominate our decision to the point of blindness, and from there it’s hard to turn back, and more often than not, it leads to perpetual judgment, which as we all know creates bitterness in the heart, and a compromised, unhappy soul.
When we choose to believe a lie, a rift is born, and through careless gossip and rumors that lie begins to manifest into the truth, or so we think. When we stop to apply logic, common sense and, dare I say, search for hard facts, we often find doubt, but to save face we continue to accept the lie as truth. I see this all to often and it saddens me dearly.
It’s clear to me, and should be to you too, that a lie is meant to hide the truth. The truth is a revealer of secrets, and a lie is the number one tool in the quest for power and domination. The only way to live your best life is by telling the truth. I do believe it will set you free, but only when it comes from you and not from another’s lips. Never allow anyone to speak for you.
Politicians are counting on our lackadaisical attitude in order to gain votes. Religious zealots are using it to pad their wallets, while becoming enablers of fear and ignorance. The brainwashing must cease. There is no excuse for not being informed. To be thoroughly informed one must listen to all sides, but truly know the facts in order to make a responsible decision. We must always give consideration to how it will impact the world at large.
Tell the truth, or someone will tell it for you. – paerki
