Carla's Garden
I was walking home, via Guildford, and discovered a lovely home with a beautiful side garden. Of course, I had to pull out my camera to capture the moment because I knew it would definitely be worth remembering.
I was chatting with a friend, while we admired the love and care given to such an exquisite space. From her back yard, behind a hedge row, the gardener heard us talking, and eventually came out to greet us. She was all smiles, and was genuinely appreciative of our accolades. She was happy because we were happy, and I do believe that made her day. Actually, I know it did! Needless to say, it made mine too.
Carla was kind enough to give us the grand tour of her entire garden, showing us what I can’t believe we missed – the front yard. It was breathtaking, a true labor of love. She called her gardening mental medicine, adding that it keeps her happy and healthy. She definitely has a green thumb, adding that it runs in the family.
This is what city life is all about – new discoveries. Often it comes with an opportunity of meeting people, quite possibly a new friend, and I do believe I found one. I promised I would return, and in typical Paul style, taking more photographs. Thank you, Carla, for so much beauty.
As I’ve said many times before, my walks are never boring. I always find something to pique my curiosity, and today was no different. My week is off to a nice start, and I hope yours is too, dear friends. Cheers! – paerki
