Abortion (Soapbox Moment)
Well written. Brava! My response to the following: My Mother’s Abortion.
Until every child in this world has a home where they are loved, wanted, respected and fed, we have no right to dictate a woman’s choice, but even then, we have no right to tell women what they can and cannot do with their bodies. If you don’t believe in abortion, don’t have one. It’s that simple!
If you want to protect life, adopt children instead of giving birth, provide homes for the homeless, protect those who are abused, defend the mentally challenged, support healthcare, and the list goes on and on. What are you doing to help? (If you don’t have, but desire children and won’t adopt, and are pro-life, don’t even go there with me on this argument because you are part of the problem.)
I will never, ever understand the Republican’s stance on abortion. You want to save babies, but cut programs. That doesn’t make sense. Talk about a demented perspective.
Why do we continue to have multiple births in today’s society? Two children per household should be enough. Will this not satisfy your desire to be a parent? We are 7 billion people and counting. Does this number mean anything to you? Do you care? Dare you ponder the future, and not just for yourself, but the world as a whole.
I think most people are selfish, and that will be our downfall. I find it immoral when people care more about an unborn child, and yet, are doing nothing to ease the pain and suffering in the world, especially in their own backyard.
Prayer is good, but being proactive is better. If you are God-fearing, I would think this would be at the top of your list. When your passion overrides your ability to act on those things that need your immediate attention, something is seriously wrong with you. Our emotions should not trump commonsense, and making babies just because you can, doesn’t bode well with me at all. What we need and what we want are two different things. Think about it! Choice is imperative. (Agree to disagree.) – paerki
