Take A Break
Finding creative ways to take little breaks during the day has served me well in my pandemic life. They are important, but don't take advantage of a good thing, especially when working from home.
Sitting at your desk scrolling through social media sites, texting or chatting is not a real break. Many need to do a hard reboot. In other words, step away from the computer, put the phone on airplane mode and go for a walk. Lunchtime walks are the best, especially if you're walking with someone who brings joy to your world.
The best thing about walking, especially a midday walk, is it will boost your mood, helping you accomplish the day’s remaining goals.
However, I take my walks in the evening, so my breaks during the day allow me to do other things like enjoy a cup of hot tea, while reading a book, which often leads to a bit of innocent daydreaming.
I don't spend too much time in a fantasy world, but prefer realistic daydreams that have the potential of becoming actual possibilities for my life. I call it, mental practice for the goals I want to achieve. Many have come to fruition.
Breaks, walks, daydreaming… It all comes down to self-care. How are you taking care of yourself during these challenging times? Cultivate a little self-love, my friends, and if you’re in need of a new idea or want to change your life’s direction, try daydreaming, allowing your mind to wander into a creative solution. – paerki
