Monday’s Musings
Today’s News
I typically have a response for every news article I read and, as many of my friends know, I love sharing my opinions. After reading a plethora of posts, I can sum up my thoughts with the following…
Reinventing and empowering yourself through responsibility and education is the best way to combat racism, bigotry, violence, sadness, fear, oppression and many other things. Education has the ability to train a mind to be successful. It has the power to influence and motivate. It’s all about personal growth. Too many people are making dreadful choices, and society as a whole pays a very big price. I pray in earnest young people see their potential before it’s too late. Time passes by so quickly. So many of life’s blunders can be traced back to poor parenting. The latter is not to be used as an excuse for limited opportunities or for your misfortunes. It’s exhausting when people aren’t held accountable for their actions.
The power of performance is so important to life. It feeds into moral conduct, finances, and communication. It goes way beyond work, but most of us just think about it as it applies to our jobs. We need to think about motion (performance) and action (outcomes) in every part of life, especially at home. It plays a major role in raising children, teaching them to be the best they can be. It’s important for marriage or any relationship when two people are trying to grow and maintain a positive connection… in communities, when trying to create and maintain safe neighborhoods… to the nation if we want to be strong and lead with respect, and it’s critical to the world if we want our planet to survive.
When all else fails, seek a new day. It’s hard, I know, but that’s the right choice – the only choice, as far as I am concerned. I hope everyone had a pleasant Monday. Thrive in this new week. Cheers! – paerki
World AIDS Day
Many scientific advances have been made in HIV/AIDS treatment. There are laws to protect people living with HIV/AIDS, and we understand so much more about the condition. But despite this, there are still individuals who do not know the facts about how to protect themselves and others, and stigma and discrimination remain a reality for many living with the disease. World AIDS Day is important as it reminds the public and government that HIV/AIDS has not gone away – there is still a vital need to raise money, increase awareness, fight prejudice and improve education.
There is so much more we can do as individuals, but just think about what we can accomplish – together, as a people united for the good of all humanity. Do your part to make a difference. Share the truth in order to find your real happiness. Get tested! – paerki
Ninja
Introducing my friend Michael's new addition... Ninja! He's a rescue from the SPCA. He's a handsome cat – affectionate, and he loves to be held. We're going to be fast friends. – paerki ("What greater gift than the love of a cat." – Charles Dickens)
