November Rewind (Random)
Where did the time go? It flies by more quickly than I would like, especially as I get older (as I am led to believe by my friends of advanced years), thus justification for making each moment count.
For the most part, my November was full of joy. There were concerts, festivals, an opera and my routine favorite monthly activities – walking tours of the place I call home, Baltimore, with a generous amount of hikes on local trails.
I like to begin each day with a walk of meditation. This one simple action improves the odds of me having an even better day. (I’m here to tell you, don’t spend your life in a funk, clinging to fear or regret for too long because it will stifle your growth and create stress, which is more than hazardous to your health.)
As I say goodbye to one month, I enthusiastically welcome another. It’s the first of December, and the countdown begins to your holiday of choice, but we can all agree to partake in the New Year’s festivities.
There was a time when I only honored Christmas, but not anymore. I’m thankful to have friends who invite me to their celebrations (Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc.). I’m excited by the winter solstice, too. Here’s to snow, snow and more snow (keeping my fingers crossed).
I hope you’ll consider the following this season… It’s nice to receive presents out of friendship and love. However, it takes on a whole different meaning when you express yourself in other ways, too. The best way to show someone you really care is with words felt from the heart. I’ll take your gift, and I will love it, but give me your heart, wrapped in words with a bow of appreciation and I will be yours, friend – forever.
There is not one holiday that trumps another (and don’t you forget it). For me, this month is about love and beauty, and peace and goodwill towards all. Goodbye, November! You treated me well. Here’s to December… Hello! – paerki (Additional Photos: November Rewind)
