Unfortunate
My Friday began on a good note, but turned into something challenging and different, what I would call sour grapes. However, there were lessons learned, and I am grateful. I felt as if I was being tested, and I passed with flying colors.
I’ve realized just how much I’ve grown over the past few years. Relationships are hard, and when they fall apart, there is enough blame to go around and, I firmly believe, it takes two.
Trust became an issue too. Personal integrity is so important. When someone shares a secret with you, and you share it with others – What does that say about you? About our relationship?
Real leaders, and true friends, don’t gossip. Gossip destroys trust, undermines credibility, and creates an unhealthy situation for all parties involved.
I never want to revisit a night like that again. It was tawdry. The next time, I’ll just walk away.
A “Paulism” that’s worth repeating… “I refuse to acknowledge most sarcastic comments, treating them as if they are genuine (hard to do sometimes). I find this especially important if you want to move beyond the unpleasantness. However, when push comes to shove – save your insanity and walk away. They’ll get the message, one would hope.” – paerki
