…and it’s beautiful. Each tells a unique story. There is the remote possibility of similarity, but after careful observation of expression it’s easy to discern that no two are alike. Factor in lines, blemishes, texture and color and you’ll find a story of a life lived and still in progress.
There is the potential of seeing great happiness and joy. However, all too often I see misery, despair, heartache and pain, but that face too is still remarkably beautiful in my eyes because we all share one common characteristic. We all yearn for the story of life to improve upon our face, and we hang onto that possibility for dear life because we were born with that innate quality.
As I hiked through the city today, taking my semiannual walk to the Green Mount Cemetery, I found myself studying faces and in doing so I felt like I was reading books. Many appeared to be uplifting stories with happy endings in the making. Sadly, I saw others that were destined for perpetual sadness.
I saw so many people in need of care and attention, in search of someone to listen to their every woe. I think many would like to hear that ultimately everything will be all right, but there are no more guarantees in life, as if there ever were.
I believe it’s important for us all to champion the other’s cause, reaching out when we see a face compromised by a burdensome life. It’s not so easy to do, lending a hand that might be misunderstood, but we must make the attempt. I believe this is a genuine way to improve our karma and at the same time, help heal the world.
Anything is worth a shot, and when I take my walks of meditation I attempt to map out a new plan of action each time so that I too can do my part, creating positive energy that will bring us face to face in a more harmonious way. I see your face, and it’s beautiful.
Through my writing, photography, videos, career and personal challenges you will discover I am just like you, a person on a journey. My goals are simple – to be healthy and happy. You will learn that I have many interests. However, the driving force for all that I do is communication, the sharing of ideas and my passion for laughter. It really is the best medicine and a great stress reducer. Let’s all make a pact to live our best life today. Never stop looking beyond the horizon for a better tomorrow. It’s just around the corner, but only you can make it happen.
I consider myself a down-to-earth, happy-go-lucky guy, who is just making it up as I travel through life, adding a virtual laugh track here and there to amuse others and myself. I have a friendly personality, which is expressive, warm, upbeat, fun and positive. I love meeting new people. I thrive on communication, organization, diversity, creativity and laughter. My personal interests include blogging, photography, gardening, travel, hiking, cultural arts, and current events.

Evolution
It’s hard to believe I’ve been blogging for more than six years. This art form has allowed me to showcase and express my creativity. It has bolstered my confidence (not that is was lacking). At times it has been therapeutic, but more than anything it has given me a much deeper view of the world and how I see myself in it. I use my insights as a barometer for self-change, which helps me reconcile the past, adapt to the present and navigate carefully into the future. Thus far I have enjoyed the emotional roller coaster ride of thought as my hands write it and my eyes see it. As always, I hope you can relate to my stories, appreciate my views, savor the wisdom, reflect on the concepts and, more than anything, respect my friendly and genuine interest in connecting with others.

Stillness
I hope we can all take it upon ourselves to find 30 minutes each week for stillness. Some might see this as being passive or lazy, but I do believe this simple exercise can change the world. We can all benefit from a small oasis of quiet. I’ve learned when I’m still, others are too, producing silence and understanding. We set the mood for those who work and otherwise interact with us.
Happiness Vs. Contentment
There is something to testing the waters of change, bringing about a fresh new perspective to our world. One must not be afraid to dream big. Never forget that limited expectations often leads to limited results. You might even like where you end up, hopefully with contentment and not chasing happiness. The latter requires a lot of work.
Happiness to me is about keeping busy, staying active and finding fun. However, contentment is about real satisfaction, choosing quality to quantity in all aspects of life - work, friends, etc. It’s about standing still long enough to nurture more meaningful and purposeful connections through deep love and commitment. It’s long lasting, where as happiness is fleeting until you find your next high. (They might go hand-in-hand for some, but from where I am sitting it becomes a choice and I see too many people making the wrong one.)
Don’t be afraid to test the waters of change. Take your clothes off, dive in and feel reborn. It’s worth a shot, especially for those who are consumed with a false sense of happiness.
What would life be like without memories? It’s fair to say, there would be no life at all. Memory is our communication, reason, coherence, our action and more importantly, our feeling. Memories create our path in life, developing our psychology and leading us emotionally.
One of the best ways to create and store memories is with video. These simple effortless little snippets of time create diaries and become perpetual time capsules, which justify our walk on earth, telling all with great enthusiasm… I was here! I mattered! I lived! Please, don’t forget me.
Share your views, thoughts and opinions in the written word. Snap photographs so that your eyes can travel back in time, remembering the happy and sad moments that made you the person you were, are and became in life. But, whenever possible, capture video to enhance the memories you leave behind, so that others may pass the essence of your life on to future generations.

Mural - Mural On The Wall
All are beautiful in my eyes, as they are striking masterpieces that enhance many communities, especially those challenged by poverty and abandonment. They fill in the gaps for neighborhoods lacking funding and manpower, providing just a bit of hope when the odds are less than favorable. More importantly... Continue Reading
A Happy Life Begins At Home
My home is very important to me. My life between these four walls of privacy I value like no other. It’s immeasurable, and absolutely priceless. It’s an oasis with a cocoon-like feeling, shielding me from the outside manipulative forces of violence and pollution. It allows for creativity, free thinking... Continue Reading
Yielding To Signs
Sunday was the perfect day to be outdoors. The sky was a bright baby blue and absolutely stunning to look at, especially when it became the backdrop for seagulls and blackbirds, effortlessly soaring and plummeting in between wind gusts. It was magical, a hypnotic visual sensation of which I couldn’t... Continue Reading
City Of The Silent
Underground in permanent stasis they speak no more. Many have departed this life, leaving behind a legacy for all to enjoy, cherish, honor and, with a little luck and ingenuity, replicate. For me, this quiet region of slumber still has a pulse, and you can feel it when you walk these hallowed grounds... Continue Reading
I love photographs! They have this amazing ability to tell stories of fun places, special moments, memorable events, and exciting places. They give us reason to pause and remember friends, family, coworkers and so many others. One photograph can conjure up a flood of memories taking us on a journey. They help us remember the past, enjoy the present and ponder the future.
On a cold and rainy day I love sitting in my living room with a roaring fire, a glass of wine, classical music playing in the background and my many photographs scattered about me. I love sifting through what I call my special collection, which refers to my favorites. They remind me of the saddest and happiest moments of my life. They remind me of challenges and overcoming.
My large collection of images are a testament to a life lived. Life happens all around us so it’s important to collect special memories, and what better way than with a photograph.

A "Seagull" Of Memories
When I see gulls (known to many as seagulls), I think of the shoreline. I have wonderful childhood memories of playing in the sand in Ocean City; building sand castles, and coming back later in the day to watch the waves crash into my creativity, only to go back the next day to repeat the process. All Paths
The Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw said, "There is only one religion, though there are a hundred versions of it." It’s an interesting reference, and one I find intriguing. I am eternally curious and often entertained by religiosity and less inclined to follow any one particular faith because of... Continue Reading
A Culture Of Hate
Weekends fly by so quickly, or so it appears. However, this particular weekend seemed unusually long, and I think it had something to do with the gruesome events that took place on Saturday in Tucson, Arizona. I am shocked by the horror that unfolded, a young man throwing his entire future away, and all in the name of... Continue Reading
Goodbye. Hello.
Where did the time go? It flies by more quickly than I would like, especially as I get older (as I am led to believe by my friends of advanced years), thus justification for making each moment count. Each day really is a gift, and we must always remember this by showing our gratitude, perhaps with a... Continue Reading

1000
Wow! This post marks my 1000th blog entry. I can hardly believe it, but my fatigued fingers and burned-out bantam brain proves it so. It’s not my intention to come off sarcastic or even casual about what I consider a true milestone. I’m actually quite enthusiastic, finding it all just a bit... Continue Reading
Substance Is Sustenance
What can I say? I love substance in conversation and don’t get nearly as much as I would like. As my closest friends will attest, I love the carefully orchestrated gift of banter between people (especially two) who express passionate views of self and of the world at large. I respect individuals who are unafraid... Continue Reading
